Mending Workshop

Sunday February 22 11am

Ever tempted to throw out clothes just because they have holes?
In this workshop, you’ll learn basic mending techniques like patching, darning, sashiko stitching, and replacing buttons. The instructor will demo different methods and help you with your own projects, using both hand-sewing and machines. Bring 1–2 items to mend, and you can expect to leave with at least one finished repair and the skills to keep going on your own.

Mending is a great way to make the clothes we love last a little longer. Showing care for these items takes more time and effort than buying something new but they make that garment more special. Patches and repairs tell the story of how we wear our clothes and how we care for them. Come learn a new skill or brush up on your sewing and get inspired to mend more!
